What is Melamine Faced Plywood?

Melamine faced plywood skips a whole production stage on your side: the decorative paper is thermally fused to the plywood face at our press, so the panel arrives ready to cut, edge-band and assemble. There is no glue-spread step, no separate hot press, and no lamination scrap.

Huanawood offers woodgrain prints, solid colours and textured or embossed finishes on a plywood substrate with MR (E1) glue, 9–25 mm. Matching melamine edge banding can be supplied with the order so the finished cabinets look continuous.

Why buyers choose our Melamine Faced Plywood

One press, fused for good

Melamine is thermo-fused, not glued on. It will not peel at the edges the way post-laminated sheets sometimes do after years in humid kitchens.

Matched edge banding

We can supply matching melamine edge tape in the same decor, so your cabinets do not mix two batches of white.

Decor library

Send us the decor code or a physical sample and we will match it — common European woodgrain and solid colour decors are already in production.

Plywood substrate where it matters

Compared with MDF-based melamine, plywood substrate gives better screw holding in shelf pins and hinges — the recurring failure point of wardrobes.

Applications

Wardrobes and fitted closets

White and woodgrain carcase panels with matched edges.

Kitchen cabinets

Textured woodgrain fronts and solid-colour carcases.

Office furniture

Frequently asked questions

Can you match a specific woodgrain decor code?
Send us the code (for example a European melamine decor number) or a physical sample. Standard decors are in stock; custom matches need a sample approval round of 10–15 days.
Plywood or MDF substrate for melamine — which should I choose?
Plywood for wardrobes and anything carrying shelves or hinges (better screw holding); MDF when the design needs routed profiles or a perfectly uniform painted look.
Is the surface scratch resistant?
Melamine is a hard thermoset surface, resistant to everyday kitchen and wardrobe contact. It is not a worktop-grade surface — deep cutting boards and dragged ceramics will mark any melamine.
Do you supply matching edge banding?
Yes, melamine edge tape in the same decor and thickness options, sold per roll with the panel order.
What is the minimum order per decor?
Stock decors: no minimum beyond the container. Custom decors typically start at one full container per decor.
