What is MDF / HDF Board?

MDF is the substrate of modern cabinet interiors because it is the same everywhere: no grain to fight, no core voids, a machined edge that takes primer like sheet faces. Huanawood produces medium density board (720–800 kg/m³) and high density board (850–950 kg/m³) in an unusually wide size range, from 4×8 ft up to 6×12 ft for full-height wardrobe doors and wall panels.

Finish options cover the three ways cabinets are actually made: plain sanded board for your own laminating line, dyed-through board in black, green (moisture-resistant) or custom colours for exposed painted edges, and melamine-faced board for direct assembly.

Why buyers choose our MDF / HDF Board

Big sheets for tall doors

6×9 and 6×12 ft sheets let wardrobe and interior-door makers cut single-piece doors above 2440 mm — the joint that MDF users most often need to avoid.

Dye that matches through the edge

Dyed-through board means a black lacquer edge stays black when it chips, instead of showing a pale core stripe.

Green MR option for wet areas

Green-dyed moisture-resistant MDF for bathroom vanity units and kitchen kick spaces — identified by colour on site, like the trade expects.

HDF where impact matters

950 kg/m³ HDF for door skins, drawer bottoms and floor underlay that resist dents.

Applications

Frequently asked questions

MDF or HDF — which do I need?
MDF (720–800 kg/m³) for carcases, shelves and painted furniture. HDF (850–950 kg/m³) where thin, hard panels are needed: door skins, drawer bottoms, underlay.
Is dyed-through MDF more expensive?
Roughly 8–15 % over plain, depending on colour. The saving is in your paint shop: edges do not need filling to hide a pale core.
Do you make E0 MDF?
E1 is our standard. E0 is possible on selected thicknesses for project volumes — tell us the spec and we will confirm.
What is the largest sheet size available?
6×12 ft (1830 × 3660 mm) is the largest standard size, used for full-height doors and wall panels.
Can melamine-faced MDF use my decor sample?
Yes, same as our plywood melamine line — send the decor code or sample for matching.
